GET LEGAL SUPPORT WITH THE DON’T BULLY ME PROJECT
The Don’t Bully Me (DBM) Project is working to bridge the gap that exists between those who are victims of bullying, parents, schools, teachers and the rest of the community with the goal of putting an end to bullying. The DBM Project aims to focus on providing legal services to resolve – through court order or other legal remedies – situations where serious incidents of repeated physical, social, and/or verbal bullying is occurring.

Much of what is happening today lies in a lack of understanding of what cyberbullying is and how much pressure it puts on kids. That’s where we can help you. You can book a speaker through this website to speak at your school about the dangers of cyberbullying and educate your students on David’s Law. Our presenters will educate students and staff on what cyberbullying is, what the laws are, and how you can help protect yourself and other students from being victims.

Seven years ago, my family’s world was shattered by the death of our youngest son, David. At 16, David took his life after months of being continually harassed, humiliated and threatened by a group of students through text messages and social media. As we have learned, cyberbullying is a form of abuse that can lead to depression, low self-esteem, anxiety and, ultimately, suicide. As a result of David’s tragic death, my husband, Matt, our other two sons, Cliff and Chris, and I created David’s Legacy, a foundation committed to eliminating cyberbullying through education, legislation and legal action. Mother fights for bill that would protect kids using social media

Federal lawmakers set to debate bill aimed at protecting kids online
SAN ANTONIO — Federal lawmakers are set to debate a bill aimed at protecting children online. The Kids Online Safety Act would limit harmful content minors could be exposed to on social media. Its also legislation that is being spearheaded by an Alamo Heights mother. The hearing is a closed door session so we won’t know until afterward if it will move forward.
